Solus International is pleased to announce plans to bring the PV Cruiser to Peru this Fall for an extended period of field-testing and product demonstration. |

After researching several potential locales, we chose to launch our first project in Peru. Several factors unique to Peru's current socio-economic situation made the country a perfect match. Notably, the Peruvian government has recently increased its committment to universal electrification, an encouraging indicator. Particularly when taking into account the fact that approximately 70% of Peru’s rural and isolated communities lack electricity of any kind. Moreover, many such locations are accessible only by pack animal or on foot, making it highly unlikely the national electrical grid will ever expand to reach these areas, despite the government's best intentions. This lack of electricity in rural communities, particularly those in Peru's Andes highlands, has played a large role in creating the current economic gap between rural and urban Peruvians. Designed with isolated, off-grid communities in mind, Solus International's PV Cruiser provides an efficient solution for addressing the energy needs in rural areas of Peru. Though we're still in the process of finalizing the exact locations in Peru where we will be working, we're looking forward to helping communities meet their energy needs in a cooperative and sustainable manner. |
